Boss-Chat ("we", "our", or "us") is a Chrome Extension that replaces your browser's new tab page with a productivity dashboard. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and an optional display name. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.
We store your tasks, notes, goals, settings, and preferences so they sync across your devices. This data is tied to your account and is accessible only to you.
We collect anonymous usage data (feature interactions, UI events) via PostHog to help us improve the product. No personally identifiable information is included in analytics events.
We collect error logs via Datadog to identify and fix bugs. Error data includes your extension version, browser type, and anonymized technical details.
If you choose to provide feedback when uninstalling, we collect the text you submit.
We use your data to: sync your settings across devices, improve and debug the extension, and analyze feature usage to guide product decisions. We do not sell your data to third parties.
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| PostHog | Anonymous usage analytics |
| Datadog | Error monitoring & logging |

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Data is stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database. Authentication uses JWT tokens with configurable expiration.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page within the extension. To request data export or deletion, contact us at support@boss-chat.com.
We will notify you of material changes via the extension or email.
